Facial Revitalisation Acupunture combines acupuncture with massage techniques to create a natural healthy glow.
Ever thought about trying to brighten your face, soften those wrinkles or frown lines, nourish those baggy eyes or sagging jowls but not keen on the idea of anything quite as drastic as cosmetic surgery?
It is a fantastic treatment for people who feel their face looks tired and washed out or for those who hate their wrinkles and want to try to keep them at bay.
The Treatment
Fine acupuncture needles are inserted either end of wrinkles and around problem areas of the face and left in for up to 20 minutes.
When treating deeper lines and creases, an electro acupuncture machine is used. This passes a very small electric current through the needles. This is not painful but can feel a little odd or twitchy. The sensation has been described by one of my patients as being like a caterpillar wriggling about on the forehead. A few needles might also be placed in the arms or lower legs to compliment the treatment and support your general health. The treatment is completed with a facial massage using hands and a roller, warmed with healing herbs.
The best results are cumulative and initially a course of six weekly treatments is recommended. Acupuncture aims to reduce the lines by relaxing muscles and encouraging the flow of blood and energy in the face. Results can vary but most people see a reduction in the lines and more vitality in their face, have a sparkle to their eyes and feel that their skin is fresher and softer.
